Orchard banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, at Farringdon. An orchard is recorded here on the Farringdon parish tithe apportionment of approximately 1838-48, although by 1946, aerial photographs show that the fruit trees have been completely grubbed up, leaving a series of earthwork banks, upon which the fruit trees were established, visible. These earthwork banks are northeast to southwest aligned and occupy an area of approximately 0.38 hectares of gentle southwest facing slope. The orchard banks remain visible on aerial photographs of 1996.
