The extraction pit is visible as an earthwork pit.

An extraction pit of possible post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, to the west of Holwell Farm. The oval shaped earthwork measures approximately 35m in length by 30m in width and is located on the edge of a moderate north sloping spur. It is visible on aerial photographs up until 1964, although is not clearly visible after this date and may have since been completely levelled.
