Possible orchard banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, at Palmer’s Farm. Orchards are depicted within the vicinity on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s, although any orchard established here had evidently passed out of use by this time. The earthwork banks, on which the fruit trees were possibly established, are northeast to southwest aligned and occupy an area of approximately 0.85 hectares of gentle southwest facing slope, on the south side of Roackbeare Hill road. The earthwork banks appear to remain partly visible on aerial photographs of 2000.
