Orchard banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on Lidar-derived images of 2005, at Westcott Farmhouse. An orchard is depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s. Aerial photographs of 1989 show that the orchard trees have been completely grubbed up, although the orchard banks, on which the fruit trees were established, are not clearly visible, other than on Lidar images. The banks are east to west, northeast to southwest and northwest to southeast aligned and occupy an area of approximately occupy an area of approximately 0.58 hectares of gentle northeast facing slope, within two adjacent plots depicted on the First Edition OS map.
