A possible former field boundary of potential medieval date is visible as an earthwork ditch on Lidar-derived images of 2005, at Higher Upcott. The slight curvilinear earthwork is northeast to southwest aligned and appears to be contiguous with a boundary at its southwest extent and may form part of a series of medieval strip fields. The former boundary is not depicted on the Parish Tithe Map of approximately 1838-48 and appears to have passed out of use by this time. The earthwork was not clearly visible on aerial photographs made available to the survey.
