A possible extraction pit of between medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, at Allercombe. The prominent sub-oval shaped feature measures approximately 37m in length by 30m in width and remains visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 2000.
