Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.

The extraction pit is possibly symbolised on the Parish Tithe Map of between 1834-48.

The extraction pit is visible as an earthwork pit.

A possible extraction pit of likely post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the southeast of Cranbrook. The irregular shaped feature is first symbolised on the Parish Tithe Map of approximately 1838-48, within an area where other such similar features are depicted. It measures approximately 24m in length by 17m in width and remains visible as an earthwork pit on Lidar-derived images of 2005.
