Full description

Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.

'Lower Town' shown on 19th century Tithe Map as a group of buildings on the east side of the road. A large irregular shaped building has smaller buildings and enclosures to the east and west. The Apportionment lists the Owner as 'Kent or Kest Thomas' and the Occupier as 'James Townsend'. Field Number 1828 is listed as 'House & Garden', Field Number 1829 as 'House' and Field Numbers 1827 and 1830 as 'Garden'.
