Summary
A curvilinear double cropmark, visible on aerial photographs taken between 1992 and 2010, is interpreted as having formed over the remains of ditches flanking a former medieval or earlier field bank along the parish boundary. This section was no longer a functioning barrier by the mid-19th century.

A double curvilinear cropmark, each cropmark less than a metre wide and circa 4 metres apart, is visible on aerial photographs taken between 1992 and 2010. It corresponds to the line of the parish boundary depicted on the late-19th century OS map, and is broadly contiguous with a curvilinear boundary depicted just to the east on the Tithe map. The cropmarks are likely to have formed over the remains of ditches flanking a field bank along the parish boundary, likely to have a medieval or earlier origin. The section that was not depicted on the Tithe map has been transcribed, as this has not been clearly mapped as a field boundary, and was no longer a functioning barrier by the mid-19th century.
