Full description

Some 20 metres northwest of the current Marines assault course water tunnel a section of wall, aligned northeast-southwest, lies within a small stream, circa 6 metres length of wall is visible, its southwest end disappearing into vegetation. The wall is circa 1 metre high, the southwest end is brick and the northeast end is concrete block (very weathered) supported by corrugated iron sheeting. A large rectangular pond is shown on the Ordnance Survey 1:2500 map of 1961 and a smaller sub-square pond some 25 metres further upstream (north). The wall presumably represents one side of the large pond. The purpose of the ponds in this area is unknown at present.
