Parallel linear earthwork ditches, covering an area of roughly 25 by 65 metres and saced circa 7 metres apart, are visible on aerial photographs taken between 1947 and 2010. Their location corresponds to a field within which orchard trees are depicted on late-19th century OS map, and some trees are still visible on aerial photographs taken in 1967. The earthworks are aligned broadly cross-contour, and are interpreted as a post-medieval or modern drainage system to improve the land for fruit trees and drain excess water into Berry Brook on the south side of the field. They are very clear in 1947 when they may have been recently cut or recut. They are just visible on later available aerial photographs although some parts, especially the eastern side, may have been levelled and the fruit trees removed.
