Full description
Urmston, Ben, 11/2008, Avon Support Main, between Roborough and Houndall, near Plymouth, Devon. (Report - Geophysical Survey). SDV358939.
A geophysical survey was undertaken of a proposed 13km water main between Roborough and Houndall, near Plymouth, Devon. Several sites of archaeological interest were detected.
A cluster of linear and discrete anomalies along the northwestern extent of this area (Compound 4) may be associated with the discreet pit-like anomalies in the adjacent field to the north, although it is also possible that they are the remnants of ploughing headlands. Strong ploughing trends oriented with
the extant northeastern boundary appear to support this interpretation.
