Parallel linear earthwork banks, circa 3 metres in width at ST26390365, are visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014 and on aerial photographs taken from 1982 onwards. Their broadly cross-contour orientation is indicative of tree planting banks that were common in orchards of post-medieval or 19th century date. This area is depicted as orchard on the Tithe map and early-20th century OS map, and trees obscured the ground surface in earlier available aerial photographs, indicating that it was still in use as an orchard during the mid-20th century.
