Cropmarks which have formed over possible infilled ring ditches of potential prehistoric date are visible on specialist oblique aerial photographs of 1984, to the west of Bishop’s Court. The faintly defined and partial ring ditches are located on fairly low lying, level ground within the Clyst Valley and comprise a series of fragmented curvilinear cropmarks which appear to resemble three intercutting ring ditches. The cropmarks must be viewed with some degree of caution, however, as it is equally likely they are the result of geological patterning in the ground. They were nonetheless recorded given their proximity to a well-defined ring ditch recorded on the same aerial photograph, approximately 48m to the southeast. The cropmarks are not visible on other aerial photographs or digital images made available to the survey.
