The cropmarks are visible.

Cropmarks which have formed over infilled ditches of a possible prehistoric or Romano-British enclosure are visible on oblique aerial photographs of 1984, to the southwest of Sowton. The cropmarks are curvilinear in plan and would appear to form the eastern corner of an oval or circular shaped enclosure. A more complete cropmark enclosure was also recorded in close proximity to the south, as well as an additional possible rectilinear enclosure to the immediate northwest. It is recommended that further field investigation is carried out, such as geophysical survey, to help establish the nature of these cropmarks. The possible enclosure is not visible on other aerial photographs made available to the survey.
