Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2014-2015, East and Mid Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV356883.

Parallel linear earthwork banks, circa 3.5 metres wide, are visible on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s and 1950s, although the ground surface is obscured by the tree canopy. By 1979 the trees had been removed, although some earthwork remnants of the banks probably survived at this time. Their location corresponds to a field within which orchard trees are depicted on the late-19th century OS maps. The earthworks are aligned cross-contour, and are interpreted as tree planting banks of probable post-medieval or 19th century date, that went out of use in the 20th century. They are not visible on later available imagery and may have been levelled.
