Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2014-2015, East and Mid Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV356883.

Parallel linear earthwork banks, circa 4 metres wide, are visible on aerial photographs taken between 1946 and 1969 and on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. Their location corresponds to three fields depicted on the late-19th century mapping, within which orchard trees were depicted. The earthworks are aligned cross-contour, and are interpreted as tree planting banks of probable post-medieval or 19th century date. In 1969 trees were still present in all but the small field centred at SX9857788914, and the disuse of the orchard seems to post-date the late 1960s.
