Orchard banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, off Harrington Lane. Orchards are depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s and either side of the former farmstead of Harrington Farm. By 1946, aerial photographs show that the orchard trees have been partly grubbed up, leaving a series of parallel northwest to southeast aligned earthwork banks, on which the fruit trees were established, visible. These banks occupy a combined area of approximately 1.40 hectares of gentle southeast facing slope, within two rectilinear shaped plots depicted on the First Edition OS map. The orchard banks to the north of Harrington Lane have been completely levelled as part of residential development by 1963, although those to the south remain visible on Lidar-derived images of 1998 and 2005.
