A possible ditched enclosure was visible as a cropmark.

A possible small ditched enclosure of later prehistoric date was visible as a cropmark in the floodplain of the Exe Valley north-west of Stoke Canon, on aerial photographs of 1989. The cropmark is narrow, less than 2 metres wide, defining a rectilinear enclosure up to 23 metres across. The cropmark might in part be of agricultrural origin and further work, such as geophysical survey, is recommended to clarify the nature of the cropmarks.
