A probable former field boundary of post-medieval date was visible as an earthwork ditch flanked by an earthwork bank, on the west bank of the River Exe to the south of Brampford Speke, on aerial photographs and digital images derived from lidar data. The relict earthworks appear to fall into the field pattern as depicted on the Tithe Map for Brampford Speke, and might therefore have been part of the post-medieval reclamation and enclosure of the floodplain of the Exe Valley. However, they do not correspond with any features depicted on the Tithe Map and were therefore probably removed prior to the 1840s.
