Full description
Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.
The cropmarks do not correspond with any depicted quarries.

Irregularly shaped cropmarks of possible pits were visible.

Two former possible quarry pits of unknown date were visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs of 1995 on the south facing slopes to the south of Brampford Speke. The cropmarks are irregular in shape but may be evidence of a pit up to circa 40 metres in length and a second smaller pit around 16 metres wide. They do not correspond with any features depicted on the Ordnance Survey first edition 25 inch map and had therefore probably passed out of use prior to the 1880s.
