Full description
Environment Agency, 1998-2014, LiDAR DTM data (1m resolution), LIDAR SX9396 Environment Agency DTM 01-JAN-1998 to 30-SEP-2014 (Cartographic). SDV359177.
A sub-square earthwork pit was visible.

A probable quarry pit of possible medieval to post-medieval date was visible as an earthwork on digital images derived from lidar data, on the steep north-facing slopes circa 11 metres to the south-east of Pennsylvania Road in Stoke Woods. The pit is roughly square in shape and measures approximately 12 metres to a side. The function of the pit is not known but its proximity to Pennsylvania Road might support a tentative interpretation that it was related to road building.
