A possible bomb crater of Second World War date was visible on aerial photographs of 1946 and 1960s as an earthwork pit on the gentle north-facing slopes overlooking Fairy Dell, south of Goffin’s Farm House. The pit was roughly circular and measured approximately 5 metres in diameter. The pit remained visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1964, albeit partly infilled and grassed over. The pit is not visible as an earthwork on digital images derived from aerial photographs of 2010 and appears to have been levelled.
