Full description
Exeter Archaeology, 2003, East Devon Heathlands Archaeological Survey, 10, Part 1; 63, Part 2: Gazetteer, Site No. 236 (Report - Survey). SDV101648.
Hutchinson noted ‘a number of oval, square and circular pits and platforms in the area’ made by General Simcoe’s troops during the Napoleonic Wars. This has been suggested as the possible context for three mounds/barrows (see sites 131, 132, 133). No associated features were identified in the area during the field survey.
