Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2014-2015, East and Mid Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV356883.

Evidence of a probable former field boundary of medieval date was visible on aerial photographs and digital images derived from lidar data as an earthwork ditch on the north-facing slopes to the north-east of Stoke Hill Farm. The curvilinear ditch or hollow was up to 15 metres wide, and echoed the shape of an extant field boundary to the west. It is probably evidence for a removed boundary that might have incorporated a hedgebank that also had a field drainage function.
The earthwork does not correspond with any boundary depicted on the Tithe Map for Heavitree in Exeter and the boundary had therefore probably passed out of use prior to the 1840s.
