Probable former quarry pits were visible as earthwork pits or hollows on aerial photographs of the 1960s onwards and digital images derived from lidar data on the west side of St Andrew’s Road, overlooking the River Creedy to the east. The earthwork hollows follow the road for approximately 50 metres and cut into the valley slopes for circa 20 metres. The date of the pits is unknown but they might have been associated with road building.
