Earthwork banks of possible medieval field boundaries are visible on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, to the north of Horseman’s Hill Cottages. The slight curvilinear earthwork banks are northwest to southeast aligned and appear to respect the historic field patterns of medieval enclosures based on strip fields, although are not depicted on the 1838-48 Parish Tithe Map and so appear to have passed out of use by this time. The earthwork banks remain partly visible on Lidar-derived images of 1998-2014.
