A possible quarry of post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, at Uplyme. The small, oval shaped earthwork pit measures approximately 22m in length by 13m in width and is located alongside an historic and extant field boundary on its eastern side. The earthwork is located in close proximity to other possible former quarries to the northeast, now utilised as ponds, on the 2015 Ordnance Survey MasterMap, as well as a much larger quarry depicted on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map further to the west. The earthwork since appears to have since been largely levelled, although slight earthworks of this possible former quarry remain visible here on Lidar-derived images of between 1998-2014.
