Quarries are depicted in close proximity here to the north and south on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s.

Possible quarries of post-medieval to modern date are visible on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, to the north of Court Hall Farm, Uplyme. The three irregular shaped earthworks are located alongside the steep west facing slope of a prominent combe, with the largest of the three measuring up to 170m in length. The site of two similar sized quarries is depicted in close proximity to the west and southwest on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s. The possible quarries remain visible as earthwork pits on Lidar-derived images of between 1998-2014, although are partly obscured by woodland of Court Hall Coppice.
