A number of quarries and limekilns are depicted in close proximity here to the south.

Possible quarries of likely post-medieval to modern date are visible as earthwork pits on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, to the south of Valley View Farm. The two possible quarries are sub-oval in shape and are located either side of a road. The larger of the two to the east is sub-oval in shape and measures approximately 58 in length, whilst that to the west is more crescent shaped and measures approximately 33m in length. The earthworks are situated in close proximity to a number of quarries and limekilns which are depicted on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of approximately 1838-48. The possible quarries remain visible as earthwork pits on Lidar-derived images of between 1998-2014.
