Full description

Unknown, 1937, Archaeological notes, 58 (Article in Serial). SDV125843.

Paleolithic flint implements found immediately north of Colyford Station in 1937. In stony alluvium overlying the flood-plain gravel to the west of the River Axe. The assemblage included numerous artifacts, including cores and blades of flint and a few of chert and constitute the first such find in the plain of the Axe valley. Some resemble those found on Beer Head plateau.
