The possible former extraction pit is visible as an earthwork pit, adjacent to a reservoir.

A possible former extraction pit of likely post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, at Hawkchurch Cross. The irregular shaped earthwork measures approximately 45m in length by 41m in width and is located on the western side of Hawkchurch Road and adjacent to a covered reservoir. It remains visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 2000 and the site is now occupied by structures likely associated with the reservoir.
