Former field boundaries of potential medieval and post-medieval date are visible as earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the east of Berry Farm. The earthworks comprise a north to south aligned curvilinear bank, with a possible L-shape bank at its southern extent. The relict field boundaries lie in an area classified as 'medieval enclosures based on strip fields' under the Historic Landscape Characterisation project. Extant boundaries of this historic medieval field system are still preserved in the modern landscape in the field boundaries to the east and west. The Tithe Map mosaic for this area is however unavailable and it is not possible to establish whether these relict boundaries were extant during this time or had passed out of use. Whereas the curvilinear bank has clear medieval characteristics, the L-shaped bank to the south appears to represent a later modification of the field system here, perhaps sometime in the post-medieval period. The earthworks remain visible on aerial photographs of 2000.
