The Clayhidon Tithe Map/Apportionment show a field to the east of Clayhidon Turbary (south of Mount Pleasant Farm) called ‘Stoney Close’ (No. 648). The name may refer to the naturally stony nature of the soil. However, it could also indicate remains of a former cairn or building. There is a potential cairn site to the west of Clayhidon Turbary (524).
