Part of the main water supply that was originally provided around 1800 in connection with Berry's woollen mill at Moorlands, which was later extended and modified. This was an open reservoir above Dennis Park which was not originally on the direct line of the leat, but off to one side, the leat channel acting as a 'by-wash' to allow the reservoir to be emptied for cleaning.
The Chagford reservoir and supply leat are still functional and are used to augment to replace the modern pumped mains supply at times of drought.
