A series of curvilinear banks and ditches are visible as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013. The earthworks are situated across a north-west and west facing field south-west of Coombe Lodge.
Some sections of bank adjoin part of the quarry earthworks (MDV114244) adjacent, and are orientated both south and south-west. Two sections of bank are closely parallel to each other, while another to the south-west is flanked by a ditch which forms an L-shape.
The earthworks do not correspond with any features depicted on the available historic maps. The historic landscape is characterised as ‘post-medieval enclosures with medieval elements’.
Some of the earthworks had been transcribed as part of the Tamar Valley NMP project, these have been re-transcribed based on the recent lidar data.
The banks and ditches are interpreted as medieval to post-medieval field boundaries, that passed out of use prior to circa 1840.
