Summary

Earthwork ditch and banked features interpreted as a field system of potential medieval date are visible on aerial photographs, to the southwest of Longbrook House. Earthwork ditch and banked features have been interpreted as a field system of unknown, but potential medieval, date.

Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2016, Backlog Recording of the Tamar Valley National Mapping Programme Survey (Personal Comment). SDV359374.

These earthworks are interpreted on the NMP database record as a field system. A number of the earthwork ditched features, however, appear to more likely represent post-medieval to modern catch meadow gutters and or drains, rather than field boundaries. This monument record has been accordingly indexed to show this. It is also unclear which of the earthworks recorded here are associated with this database record. Only part of the photo reference is given in the transcription attributes, so the date of the photograph is not known.
