A series of parallel curvilinear banks between circa 8 and 17 metres in width and between 80 and 160 metres in length are visible as subtle earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2007 and 2013. The banks are situated across several south-west facing fields north-west of Buckland Monachorum.
The earthwork banks do not correspond to any features depicted on the Tithe Map, however they are closely in parallel with depicted field boundaries. The historic landscape is characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields.
A curvilinear cropmark has previously been recorded as part of the Tamar Valley NMP Project.
The banks are interpreted as field boundaries of medieval origin that formed a strip field system and passed out of use prior to circa 1840.

Understanding Landscapes Project, 2020-2021, University of Exeter Understanding Landscapes Project - Volunteer data, 294.3 and 294.4 (Interpretation). SDV363949.

Strip fields located to the rear of the church and north of Garden House SX 49188 68342 and SX 49642 68471
