The possible clay pit is visible as an earthwork pit.

An extraction pit of a possible post-medieval to modern clay pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the north of Underdown Farm. The oval shaped feature measures approximately 33m in length by 23m in width and is located in an area where a number of similar such earthworks have been recorded as part of this survey. A number of clay pits are depicted within the vicinity here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s. It is possibly the same feature that has been recorded to the southwest as MDV114110. The likely clay pit remains visible on aerial photographs of 2000.
