An earthwork pit of a probable post-medieval to 19th century extraction pit is visible on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the east of North Hill Farm. The earthwork is sub-oval in shape, measures approximately 46m in length by 38m in width and abuts, and so likely post-dates, a field boundary along its southwestern edge. A number of similar such features have also been recorded within close proximity to the north. It remains visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016.
