Earthwork pits of probable post-medieval to 19th century extraction pits are visible on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the north of North Hill Farm. The two adjacent earthworks are located either side of an historic field boundary. They are sub-oval in shape and measure approximately 21m in length by 15m in width (eastern earthwork) and approxiamtely 24m in length by 17m in width (western earthwork), on gentle southwest facing slope. A number of similar such features have also been recorded within close proximity and appear to be the result of small-scale extraction. The earthworks remain visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016.
