A number of possible extraction pits are visible as earthwork pits.

A cluster of earthwork pits of possible former post-medieval to 19th century extraction pits are visible on aerial photographs of 1947 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the northwest of Profits Down Farm. The six oval shaped earthworks measure between 21m to 26m in length and are located alongside North Hill Lane on moderate northeast facing slope. A number of larger extraction pits are visible to the south (MDV115324).
