A former field boundary of possible medieval date is visible as a cropmark bank on aerial photographs of 1947 and as an earthwork bank on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the southwest of Ley Farm. The curvilinear bank is northeast to southwest aligned and generally respects the historic field patterns here. The Parish Tithe map is incomplete here, so it is not possible to determine whether the field boundary was extant by this time, although it does appear to have passed out of use by the time of the First Edition Ordnance Survey map. The Historic Landscape Characterisation project has classified this area as comprising ‘medieval enclosures’.
