A possible extraction pit of post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the southwest of Underdown Farm. The sub-circular earthwork measures approximately 21m in diameter and is situated on the northern side of a stream, on moderate east facing slope. It remains visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016.
