An orchard is depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s.

The orchard is largely covered with trees, although partial earthwork banks are visible.

Orchard banks of probable post-medieval to 19th century date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, at Harvestwood Farm. An orchard is depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s. Aerial photographs of 1947 show that the orchard remains largely covered with fruit trees, although a series of partial northeast to southwest aligned earthwork banks, on which the fruit trees were established, are visible. The fruit trees have been completely cleared by 1982. The orchard banks occupy an area of approximately 0.38 hectares of gentle southwest facing slope, within a single triangular shaped plot depicted on the First Edition OS map. The orchard banks remain visible on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2014.
