Earthwork pits of probable post-medieval to 19th century clay pits are visible on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the north of Fiddles Reach. The irregular and oval shaped features are visible as shallow earthworks and measure up to 64m in length. The irregular shaped earthwork to the east may comprise a number of smaller intercutting pits. The earthworks are located in close proximity to a number of other clay pits depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map. The earthworks are visible on aerial photographs of 1996.
