An earthwork pit of a probable post-medieval to 19th century clay pit is visible on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, at Kitts Farm. The sub-oval shaped feature measures approximately 43m in length by 34m in width and is located in close proximity to a number of other clay pits depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map. The site of the clay pit is also depicted as an orchard on this map, which it likely pre-dates. The earthwork remains visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016.
