Former field boundaries of between medieval to post-medieval date are visible as cropmarks and as earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the east of Rookery Farm. The earthwork field boundaries comprise a single northwest to southeast aligned bank, with two north-east to south-west aligned banks located at either end. These earthworks are largely depicted on the Parish Tithe map of approximately 1838-48 and with the exception of the north-western most earthwork, remain extant until the second half of the 20th century. This boundary to the north-west appears quite substantial on lidar images and measures up to 14m in width. An additional north-east to south-west aligned field boundary is visible as a cropmark bank on aerial photographs of 1982. It appears to have passed out of use by the time of the Parish Tithe map. Other earthwork banks are also visible here on aerial photographs and in particular on lidar images, although since there are depicted as field boundaries on historic mapping, were not transcribed during this survey.
