An extraction pit of post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the southwest of Hillhouse Farm. The rectilinear shaped earthwork measures approximately 44m in length by 27m in width, abuts a lane along its western edge and is located in proximity to a number of similar such features recorded as part of this survey. It remains visible as an earthwork pit on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2010.
