The former field boundary is visible as an earthwork bank. Map object partly based on this source.

Bluesky International, 2016, LiDAR DTM data (0.5m resolution) Blackdown Hills and East Devon AONBs: 3 transects, LIDAR ST2408 Bluesky International DTM 24 & 30-APR-2016 (Cartographic). SDV359714.

An additional section of bank is visible. Map object partly based on this source.

Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2016-2018, The Blackdown Hills AONB and East Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV359463.

A former field boundary of potential medieval date is visible as an earthwork bank on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the west of Lower Pithayne Farm. The curvilinear boundary is broadly northeast to southwest aligned. It is unclear whether this boundary was extant at the time of the Parish Tithe Map or not, as it appears to be largely un-surveyed here. The boundary has, however, passed out of use by the time of the First Edition Ordnance survey map. The Historic Landscape Characterisation project classifies this area as ‘Medieval enclosures based on strip fields’. The boundary is clearly visible as an earthwork bank on aerial photographs of 1996, although digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016 show only the southwest extent of this earthwork, suggesting the remainder of the former field boundary has since been levelled. An additional short section of bank was, however, visible on lidar images flanking this bank.
